Responsible for setting productivity goals with Plant Manager and developing a performance strategy to meet those goals: Must attain a desired daily output.
The Production/Welding Supervisor coordinates with other departments to ensure that materials are available for welding in a timely manner and are appropriate for production activities.
Assigns welders to appropriate daily work goals.
Ensures effective manpower planning and assignment of work to welders as necessary to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Maintains appropriate levels of inventory for welding and production supplies. Assemble orders for supplies where needed.
Creates, monitors, and/or reviews documentation related to material traceability, production activities, and projects.
Verifies that all quality standards are preserved and enforced in production.
Investigates and troubleshoots welding techniques and equipment to identify and resolve issues related to weld defects and value of workmanship.
Responsible for tracing of resources dedicated to production activities and the timely reporting of those results to the Plant Manager.
Exercise supervisory duties such as training, disciplining and recognizing extraordinary performances by subordinates.
Monitors and enforces all quality, health, safety and environmental rules in the Shop.
Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures while taking an active role in employee safety. Bring problems to the attention of the appropriate manager, such as the Plant Manager.
Supervise employees directly and insure proper execution of quality practices are carried out.
Lead efforts to reduce costs and increase productivity such as training, new techniques, etc.
Responsible for timely performance goals within the department.
Perform all other duties as assigned by manager.
Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED required; 4 to 10 years related experience and/or training
