Morning Walking Tour of Downtown Chicago

Best seen in the morning in the relative quiet before the stores open. We saunter up the Avenue with coffee or tea in hand and take in the sights. You will see this famous Chicago street in an entirely new way.
You will meet at the entrance to Starbucks (444 N. Michigan Ave), grab some coffee if you like, and then head out for a relaxed morning walk along Michigan Avenue, Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, before the stores open. You will learn about Chicago's early history at the place it all began and then focus on the history of this important street. You will explore architecture from the sidewalk and from inside several stunning buildings, and with the evocative help of historic images and video on an iPad. Experience Tribune Tower, the Wrigley Building, Shriner's Athletic Club, Chicago Women's Club, Crate & Barrel, the Water Tower, Fourth Presbyterian Church, and Drake Hotel. Learn about the Great Chicago fire of 1871 and see up close the building that survived it. You conclude at the elegant Drake Hotel (140 E. Walton Place).
